If you are a landlord in Oregon, you might be eligible for an exciting rebate program through the State of Oregon. And as your local expert in HVAC since 1958, Bend Heating has the scoop. We are one of a select number of heating and cooling contractors approved to install heat pumps that meet the State of Oregon’s criteria for rebates. Read on to learn how you might qualify for this rebate or potential grants as a homeowner.

How to Qualify For the Oregon Heat Pump Rebate

The Oregon Department of Energy (ODOE) is offering rebates to homeowners renting out their residential dwellings, including manufactured and RV rentals. Unfortunately, short-term rentals do not qualify for this program. This program will help more people enjoy the comfort and savings of a new heat pump installation.

To apply, homeowners must provide their renter’s proof of income. Note that rebates are not contingent upon the personal income of the homeowner. Consult the state’s income eligibility guidelines to see whether your renters qualify for low or moderate income (up to $5,000 in rebates) or non-low-income rebates (up to $3,000 in rebates). Use an ODOE-Approved Contractor For Installation

Before you obtain a rebate from the Oregon Department of Energy’s Heat Pump rebate program, let’s explore what you need to know about qualifying.

Ownership and Rental Type

To be eligible, you must be the homeowner of a residential dwelling or a manufactured/RV rental or own recreational vehicles in a rented space. This program is not open to short-term rentals.

Energy Efficiency

The HVAC system you choose must meet the energy efficiency requirements specified by the ODOE. Our expert technicians at Bend Heating can guide you through the selection process, ensuring you choose a system that qualifies for the rebate.

Installation by Professionals

Licensed professionals like our team at Bend Heating must carry out the installation of the new HVAC system. This ensures that the system operates at its peak efficiency and meets all program requirements.

Beyond Heat Pumps

Additional $2,000 to $4,000 grants are available for mechanical upgrades like a new electrical panel, duct repair, sealing, and insulation.

Documentation

Don’t worry about pre-approval Bend Heating has got you! We handle everything, from purchase through installation. We also keep the records, photos, and documentation to ensure you can claim your rebate without the hassle.

Apply for the Rebate

Once your pre-approval for the rebate is cleared, your energy-efficient HVAC system is installed. You are billed for the service amount by your HVAC company, less the value of the rebate, and Bend Heating is reimbursed by the ODOE, so you aren’t short the money.
